Having been back at RED base for a couple of days, Sniper was marginally better, health-wise. Physically, he was still rough: the stress of the past week had worn into the creases on his face, the bags under his eyes remaining as he still wasn't getting enough sleep- he'd at least gotten some since his return. Mentally, he was worlds from where he was only days before, some strange thread of lingering hope made apparent to his eyes. He'd been given another chance to make things right, and he was going to do just that.
First things first- he needed to find Spy and let him know how much his help was genuinely appreciated. Had he not shown up when he had, the consequences could have- probably would have- been dire. While he wasn't the best with words, Sniper had to give it a try. He owed Spy that much.
He headed into the basement- though the room still had the furniture he'd taken and the smell of cigarettes hanging in the air, Spy himself was nowhere to be seen. Sniper thought nothing of it, at first- without him around to pester, he'd likely gone and found other pursuits to keep him entertained. If he had to take bets, chances were the spook was bothering BLU.
As he turned to leave, something caught his eye: a metallic glint on the table against one wall. Hobbling to it, RED found himself staring at the gun Spy had nicked from the police station, along with the handcuffs. RED knew Spy was the sort who kept his possessions on him, especially if they were treasures he'd found from somewhere else. Why would he leave them behind? With the way he'd been cradling the gun, it was a surprise he'd even put it down.
Leaning in his crutch, RED's fingers curled around the grip as he took in a deep breath, pulling in all he could of the area. While the room had that distinct odor of ash, it was stale. Spy probably hadn't been there for a day or two, at least.
Then where was he? The obvious choice was "in trouble or worse." Returning the gun to the table, RED reached for his phone.

[Not knowing the Spy from Badwater had vanished from Paradise, RED tries to make a private call to him; however, since his intended target is not available, the communicator automatically makes the feed public instead.]
Oi, Spy. Where'd you run off to? Ya left a few things just lyin' around.
