Benten's gender & sexuality
HE IS MALE.
He has a flat chest (with a nipple piercing) and he has a penis (somewhere).
Normally wears hotpants and if he's wearing a shirt that covers his chest, he...looks a lot like a really flat girl. He has REALLY NICE legs, always in stilettos, and (I assume) sounds completely androgynous. He somewhat sort of kind of flirts with both men and women, but will deny it very quickly and vehemently if he's seen doing something that might be construed as homohomotastic. He also teases people about catching them in "compromising positions" especially if he knows they're straight and is not particularly nice about nicknames. Rather immature, to be quite honest! FOR EXAMPLE "Virgin boy" or "Big forehead." Oh, and Benten's straight. Technically. Basically. Lulz Kiyo.
Yatagarasu
BENTEN IS A YATAGARASU. Yatagarasu are three-legged crows that are said to be divine. There's something that says something about them and Amateratsu but idk what exactly. In any case, there isn't much connection with her and the mononoke in Zone-00. Yatagarasu are supposed to have gold hair, gold feathers, and gold eyes; Benten's eyes are blue-green. Yatagarasu are also always male, because they have three legs, after all~
In yatagarsu form, Benten looks liiiike:
ALL GOLD except his eyes and the gem around his neck is green \o/ For those who have sharp eyes, he wears the same gem on an anklet around his right foot.
Wings
Benten has three pairs of gold wings. Normally, he'd only use one pair, but on occasion (usually when his emotions are running particularly high or when the battle is really rough) the other two pairs come out. They're gold and...seem to shed feathers a lot though that may just have something to do with the art style |Db The tattoos on his back vanish when his wings are out.
Feather Fan
The main source of Benten's powers! Looks like...a fan of feathers!
It's awesome 8D As a yatagarasu, Benten is a mononoke that controls wind. So, with the feather fan as his focus, he can slice and dice:
As his brothers show, yatagarsu can also attack via sound, as it's a form of "wind" and it can explode people and things. Benten has abilities beyond wind ones (that he also uses a fan for) but I won't get into that because it's spoileryish. OLIOLIO.

PINGS
To those who are very spiritually aware can probably tell Benten's not human. As for his yatagarasu form, Kiyo often draws him switching back and forth arbitrarily between forms in consecutive panels. Basically, if there's a bird icon, he's a bird. It may change from one sentence to another, from one step to another. There's no big fancy henshin sequence, it's a very fluid change, in the blink of an eye! Uuuuh... man, idk. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW IF YOU'D BE PINGED BY?!
