O.O.C. Becuase it's fun to mock this character

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? I'm not sure of his exact height. The novels point out that he is well below average, being significantly shorter (half a head to a full head) than nearly all the other full-grown males and barely taller than most of the females. From the information in the books and information on typical heights in 1930s America, I guess he's around 5' 4". Firo is rather skinny, though wiry might be a better description since he does have a good amount of muscle.

2. How old is he? Firo became immortal at age 18 and thus stopped aging. On January 1, 1932, he was 19. Most people mistake him from being around 14-15.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? It all depends on who he's with. For Maiza, the Martillos or anybody he likes/wants to impress he tries to stand up stright. He's normally slouching, though.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Being a trained fighter and someone who runs around town poking his nose into other people's business, Firo is in shape. His immortality prevents him from getting ill too badly or being permanently damaged physically even when angry people tear him to shreds with bullets.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? He's a very graceful mover. A good bit of his fighting revolves around "Whoa, you just totally meant to hit me but didn't" so he has to move well and be fast. He's pretty relaxed most of the time.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? Firo can't really be considered handsome in the classic sense. Much to his dismay, he's more on the pretty and cute side of things. In the light novels he's repeatedly mocked about how he looks like a girl; first when Police Officer Edward Noah says that his girly face let him get up in the Camorra ranks and accuses him of sleeping with the executives. An FBI detective says pretty much the same thing when sending Firo to Alcatraz, telling him how popular he'll be among the inmates. The only people in the series that he seems to be attractive to are 10 year old girls.

He's very annoyed when people point out how young and girly he looks or how short he is. Other than that, he doesn't seem to care too much for his looks until many decades later when he starts wearing glasses to try and appear smarter for his job as conta e oro.
7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Light and clear.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style. Very light brown, almost dirty-blond. Unlike many men in the 1920s and 30s, he keeps his hair loose which may contribute to his youthful appearance.

9. What color are his eyes? Brown like a puppy-dog with a little bit of red in there.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Just the aforementioned little kid look and the girly face. He seems to have biggish, round eyes.

11. What are his chief tension centers? Stuff like the afterife- do not talk to him about heaven or hell. Even if you're dying and he likes you he will heatedly argue against there being such a thing. His issues with death probably stem from his parents dying off pretty quickly.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit? For today, it would be considered formal, but for his time he actually looks a little slobby. His clothes look a ittle too big sometimes and his shirt is never buttoned up all the way. On the rare occasion that he wears a waistcoat or tie, he doesn't pull it off well and his top 2 buttons are still unbottoned and the tie will be loosened, For some reason it's pretty much all green.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? They're not exactly his size

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? None; he should dress better for his job as sleazy casino manager but he doesn't.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Underclothes were a little different in his time, but probably the equivalent of boxers.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Towards the higher end of normal.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? Pretty much average. The words flow right out of his motuh and that results in him saying lots of things he shouldn't. He hesitates more when he talks to Maiza or Ennis- the people he wants to impress.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? He has his New York accent but the novels note that he tries to talk like an adult most of the time. It doesn't always work.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? English and after eating Szilard he probably picked up a few languages. By 2002 he learned Japanese, mainly from reading raw manga.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Probably not.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? He can do a pretty good lecture on 'Why I Hate You' with nearly no thought (and very little information on the person). He doesn't talk as much when he's with people he likes.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? He definately tries to be more articulate when he speaks with Maiza or when he feels he has the upper-and in mocking someone. Again, it doesn't always work becuase he's kind of stupid.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? Firo is pretty much an idiot. It's hard to tell to what extent, becuase he deliberately plays it up but he'll readily admit to people he likes that he's not too bright. With fighting, however, he's very quick at picking things up. He does have some street-smarts, required for his job and leftover from his days as a little homeless street urchin.

Should it be noted that he did manage to get lost in his own home-city?

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? Mostly the first. He seems to try and avoid thinking and if it's something serious (like being scared he'll become like Szilard after eating him) he'll dwell on that one thought for a while.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Intuitive. For the second part of the question, he's very opinionated, but it's complicated to answer. He believes in an unforgiving world, but could never even conceive of betraying someone. Any fear that his family would betray him only comes from the high stakes of their business and his worry of not being good enough for them.

4. What kind of education has the character had? Knife fighting from Ronnie and Molsa Martillo, general fighting from Yagulma. His job let him learn about the Camorra and running a casino. With formal education, it doesn't seem like he had much. I'm guessing that he went to school up until his mother's death. He probably didn't return afterward, meaning he had about a 3rd grade education.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? Fighting, with a knife and hand to hand. He has some curiosity, but it typically extends to him asking people to explain things. If they tell him to go look it up he loses all interest.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? A mix. He keeps most of his deeper thoughts bottled up inside and doesn't go around talking about his feelings unless prodded in the right way. Around people he doesn't like, he's very 'in-your-face' and speaks his mind.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Defiantely not even-tempered. He switches depending on how he feels about the people he's around. With those he likes he can almost border on sweet and is normally upbeat. People he hates are treated to someone who's only happy if he's beating them into a bloody pulp and is pretty sullen, confrontational and smart-alecky otherwise.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? He's pretty relaxed, but very quick to judge people. So long as he's not rubbed the wrong way, he's rather friendly.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? Both. In most fights he'll work on countering and turning the opponent against themself. If he feels really in danger, a pre-emptive strike is in order. Outside of fightng, it all depends on the situation. Reacting seems to pop up more, though.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Definately fight. When confronted with a machine gun he had to be ordered by Maiza to run away and not try and fight back unarmed (before immortality). Even then it took a while to make him leave, and that was only after Maiza added the task of getting help. That can be blamed on his Camorra Family, as they all do the same thing and raised him in an environment where it was the norm.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? He probably wouldn't understand a lot of puns. Most of the jokes he's encountered are ones mocking him, which normally end with him decking the joker in the face. The crazy stunts Isaac and Miria pull don't often amuse him, he's more likely to be confused.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? Nope. He thought he'd go crazy after gobbling up Szilard but he didn't. At times he gives off the impression of being antisocial with his incredibly fierce and overboard self-defense, but he does have some sort of morals holding him back from wanton killing.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? Probably the death of his mother. They were already very poor and once she died he was left to fend for himself on the street. He pretty much buried his conscience since he had to steal to survive. He's still living the life of a criminal, though his work is a lot dirtier now.

14. What does he fear? As a child, he was scared of policemen, his mother dying. He's afraid of becoming an absolute monster like Szilard and killing the people he loves. He's afraid of losing his Camorra Family, but that was mainly put to rest once they all became immortal- though the worry isn't totally gone. Jail doesn't scare him since he knew he'd have to face it sometime since he joined the Camorra.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations? As a child, it was to be happy. The Martillos helped that, and it was later to join them officially, which was also fulfilled. After meeting Ennis, he hopes to marry her.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? Probably just how insecure he actually is, though he doesn't hide it well. He's confident in his beliefs, but he's always trying to prove something.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. He claims he doesn't care about them since they're dead and, in his words, "the dead don't matter." He never knew his father and most likely had a lot of love and respect for his mother, though it's doubtful she had much time for him.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? No siblings; his father died while his mother was still pregnant with him and he was their first child. The Gandors and Claire are conidered his brothers. He's still very close to them.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? He never met any of his other relatives; his father was fleeing from Italy and his mother was estranged from her family. He most likely couldn't stand his mother's family, since they ostensibly disowned his mother.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? The Martillo executives, Sena (runs the speakeasy) and Lia (the waitress) are his family; they raised him since Yagulma found his as a delinquent 9 year old. He's very close, but tries too hard to act like an adult around them. He's more at ease with Maiza, who he can tell really anything.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Luck Gandor and Calire Stanfield. They probably met at school or through the Gandor and Martillo crime families.

6. Does he have other close friends? The other Gandor brothers, Keith and Berga.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people? He makes up his mind about people very quickly, and that decides whether they can be friends or not.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends? Family. His friends are his family, but he will reluctantly put the Martillos before the Gandors.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once? He marries Ennis in 2002. In 1932, they're not married, they just live together with no romance becuase Ennis doesn't understand it and Firo is perfectly content to wait for her.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? See above and laugh at him mercilessly.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest? Ennis was Firo's first crush- when he was 18. Ennis remains his crush and he spends many decades celibate, waiting for Ennis to come around.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner? After one look at Ennis he was smitten so it seems to be looks first. Her quieter, rational personality seemed to make her more attractive, though. He finds her cross-dressing hot.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any? None.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies? Dallas Genoard machine gunned him to death and tried to frame him for murder after he was beaten up by Firo. He still has a problem with him. Szilard- the external part didn't last long but he still battles with Szilard inside him. Huey and he seem to become enemies in 1934.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale? He's accused of being a little slut with men but that was just an insult and not really based in anything. He seems to be mainly heterosexual. Firo has problems with intimate contact, but he seems like he would like sex so long as it was with Ennis. He's probably around the 0-1 range.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him? He does a pretty good job of waiting for a woman to come around after 72 years, so it's probably not so important. He's like a little kid about stuff like that.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? Ennis is a turn-on, other than that, the anime and the translated parts of the lightnovels have nothing.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? His birthday is around May so probably Taurus or Gemini. He's determined, resentful and inflexible like a Taurus and probably also likes the lack of change. However, he does not have the placidity or warm-heartedness. For Gemini, he doesn't enjoy mental challenges and doesn't have very diverse interests.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? Neither. He refuses to believe in an afterlife and isn't religious. He'll challenge people on either thing.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Not really. He decided to ignore conventional morals when he had to steal to survive and is unnecessarily harsh on people. He doesn't have qualms about beating up people, including women and the elderly.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? He isn't one for religious prosecution, but he won't hesistate to say what he thinks and tell you that your differing beliefs are wrong. Only people he doens't like really get that treatment, though.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? He has a problem with religious people and a very low opinion of them, but it seems limited to those using religion for their own gain. On a side note, he'd probably say any prejudice is inexcusable.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Comfortable; working for the Camorra is a steady job and since he does a good job he can make a good amount of money.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? It changed from being a dirt poor little kid to still a social outcast but a well-to-do criminal.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? He shares his apartment with Ennis and Czeslaw. He probably has Isaac and Miria as uninvited guests. He seems to spend hardly any time there. From a short clip in the anime, it appears his walls are green (surprise, surprise).

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? It's never mentioned, but he's not interested in material possessions.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? He's a Camorra executive. He used to catch cheaters before he was promoted, now he's in charge of running his own casino. He enjoys it greatly, especially since it lets him be closer to the Family. He'd probably still enjoy working in the family business even if they were a family of coal miners; the important thing is being with family.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? He practices fighting with the Martillos, hangs out at Alveare, runs about the city, does stupid things.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? He loves his alcohol. He seems to eat like a normal person, but is also easily distracted and as a result will accidently skip meals.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? Green
2. Smell? City air/pollution pollution pollution
3. Time of day? Midday
4. Season? Spring
5. Book? None, he's not a reader. (edit: The Tale of Desperaux)
6. Music? Jazz
7. Place? New York City's Hells' Kitchen (his birthplace)
8. Substance? Alcohol
