Why I dislike "Animal Rights" groups...

This is a picture of many many minks (estimates say many thousands upon thousands) who were released from captivity by animal rights activists. My main point here is that of all the visible minks, only a very small portion of them appear to be able to move, ie: are alive. The rest are visible at various distances in the form of roadkill.

I understand the basic tenets and such behind such a move. I like animals, and killing them solely for their skins can be a bit much to take. If it were me (which it's not) I'd endeavor to use as much of the animal as possible with the least amount of waste. But I do understand that these farms really don't. So again, I fully see the lovely road paved with good intentions.

On the other hand though, it's kind of impossible not to see that same road also paved by roadkill of the very animals they were "saving". These were animals who knew nothing of life in the wild and have been set free with little or no idea how to survive on their own. While being on the farm might be cruel to some, at least there is some purpose to it and the animals will survive easily enough until it's their turn to snuff it.

I'm sure the response of those who support such an action would be "at least they're free"... I'm sure all the carcasses in the above picture are just *thrilled* by this notion.

Seriously, always look before you leap. And for good measure, look again once or twice to make sure. Some ideas sound, well, ideal... but in practice they really suck.

That is all.
