Twang, twang, twang!  The sharp sound gave Eddie reason to pause.  Taking a stunted drag off a cigarette, the Roadie attempted to locate the source of the disturbance.  Years in the business, not to mention his own practice, allowed him to recognize the sound of an out of tune guitar.  By the time Eddie came on the scene, whoever was screwing ( Read more... )

Link had heard the mutilated moans coming from the abused instrument, and the part of him that Mikau had irrevocably left his stamp on shriveled up and howled at the sound. The part of Link that was a musician wanted to clamp his hands over his ears, run to where the crime was being committed, and then rescue the poor thing from its fate.

While he did go to find the source of the noise, he didn't come with his sword waving and ears bleeding. That would be silly, especially since the sound had stopped not too long after he'd set on his way.

He eventually came to a stop at the sight of the man holding the guitar in his lap, fiddling with the tuning pegs. There was a massiveness to the man that put Link in mind of Darunia for a moment, but a gentleness and surety in his fingers - at least while he handled the guitar - that almost, almost, put him in mind of Sheik.

He somehow doubted this was the guy who'd been murdering the poor instrument.

"Hey," he said, curiously, "Did you see who was playing that earlier?"

Eddie's concentration on the instrument was momentarily broken, turning his attention to the person speaking to him. Eddie eyed Link up and down, raising something of a confused eyebrow at the outfit. The ears didn't do much to help, either, but Eddie didn't feel like he should say something.

"Dunno, probably just some kid fucking around with it. Nothing I can't fix."

With that, Eddie resumed work on the guitar, plugging it into the amp and playing a few chords. With a satisfied grin, he unplugged it and placed it on a stand against the wall.

"You with the band?"

Well, Link thought Eddie was dressed a little weirdly too, so they were even and at least Link didn't have fists the size of pineapples.

He shook his head.

"Nope." He had to bite down the urge to say 'Haven't been for a while, bay-bay,' too. What was it with Mikau and guitars? The other two didn't get all bent of out shape at the sight or sound of their respective instruments.

"Are you?"

"Nope, I'm a Roadie." Eddie said, checking the equipment, food, with an odd sense of grace that seemed to project confidence to anyone who saw it. "Figured I'd finish up early, but I didn't think fans would start showing up this early."

Eddie finished marking off a checklist and took a drag off his cigarette. He occasionally glanced back at the kid, something seemed strange about him.

"Hey hey hey hey," the Chick said, a bit of bounce to her step as she sidled next to the large and imposing figure that was Eddie. "Do you take requests?"

Eddie glanced over to the girl, figuring she was just another fan. He reached for Clementine, his black and silver Flying V guitar that had, until now, been strapped to his back. He took a moment to ensure it was in tune before responding to her question.

"Lay it on me, and I'll see what I can come up with." The Roadie said with a smile.
