Emil shook his head, turning his gaze to the ground sadly. Nier was long gone, and he had no way of finding him at this point. Kaine was gone too, and oh how he missed camping out with her. Despite the wave of sadness wanting to make him cry, he made no sound as the boy rose. Emil felt it best to watch him for now, as he had no idea what his intentions were.

"Tch." He was very unsatisfied, and that feeling showed quite clearly on his face.
He wasn't going to fool himself. Soul didn't know these woods, and he wasn't finding any kind of trail to speak of either. He ran a palm over his face, fingers reaching up to scratch thoughtfully into his hair.
"It's no good. ...If could use Soul Perception, then I could at least tell how far the closest village is." He muttered to himself, pulling his hands into his lap with a sigh. "Dammit, Maka. Just where in the world did you go?"

Maybe there was a way Emil could guide him to the village without scaring him? Maybe even help him find his Maka friend! His next action took a moment of concentration, but it was hardly a strain on Emil's magical abilities.
An orb of light rises from his hand, drifting forward and illuminating once it was safely far enough away not to reveal Emil's location. The orb seemed to hang in front of Soul at Emil's command, bobbing gently in the air before him.
