my kid and i have been working together on a particular skill. my bed is pretty high off the floor (frame and boxspring and metress), and i wanted to teach him to get on his tummy and, feet first, slide of the bed onto the ground. we started maybe a month or two ago, just practicing everyday, and this morning, while i was rolling over trying to get ( Read more... )

smart trickybabe! cordie still can't manage to do that..she falls off the bed every time still. and napping with the babe is always a relaxing time, even when you feel like you should be doing something else.

We taught that one to Za around 7/8 months and yeah, it's a really good one. I never had any fear of her falling. And she was able to generalize it to stairs pretty early on too. Ah, munchkin power!

Za still won't nap for very long on her own, but if we're snuggled up together we can sometimes even hit 3 hours, which does make bedtime a bit of a bitch...
