"The plan is also straightforward. We'll be splitting into two groups to cover the most ground possible in the least time. One team will take Birkin outside the mansion; one will go down through the labs. Riddle is possessed of magical ability and will start with a side trip to take care of throwing my superiors off the trail.

"As a rule of thumb, if you're in the mansion, the first things you can expect to meet will be the formerly living; if you're in the labs or residence hall, you're most likely going to meet things that are still alive. As time passes, this will change."

Mary Anne arches an eyebrow.

"Change how? As in, we're going to make the alive things dead, or making them dead won't slow them down?"

"I'm anticipating some will be released as Security meets with resistance. The more time they spend free, the further they'll roam. I won't expect to find a Cerberus in the labs after we enter; as time passes, they'll probably balance their numbers through the place." He passes over a pair of pictures of the dogs as he mentions them. (If anyone would like to skip actually looking at zombie dogs, just rest assured they're "http://s120.photobucket.com/albums/o183/shark_bucket/?action=view¤t=cerberical.jpg">ugly.)

Ryan's standing at ease, hands clasped behind his back as he listens to Wesker speak and answer questions. Of course, he's also observing the rest of the group, judging reaction scents.

Sometimes he wonders how he ever got along without a sense of smell.

"Did you have a preference for who carried out which objectives?"

"How long before exposure should the antitoxin be taken?" The tall, dark woman speaks quietly, but her voice is pitched to be heard.

"No more than an hour. The problem is the dosage of venom if you're bitten; once a spider or snake has attacked, your time to take the antivenin, and have it neutralize all the poison, is limited. It's better to be prepared. I'll be taking a dose of mine once I have the data in hand."

"I see." she nods, at that, and folds her hands with a faint frown.

Tom doesn't hear the woman speaking with Deitmar, but he feels something about her is- not quite right.

He hasn't been introduced, so he tries not to stare.

"I won't need keys," Tom says, eying the vials of inoculations. "What exactly is in that, anyway?"

Tom lived before vaccinations were commonplace. Potions you drink, not inject. He'll take Deitmar's word for it, but he's not thrilled.

Spiders he'll worry about later. Snakes, on the other hand, are just fine.

"Inactive strains of the virus. They provide your immune system with target practice, a chance to recognise something new and prepare a response. Then, if you're exposed to a dangerous version of the same thing, it doesn't affect you. The immune response might be trouble, but this is why it's taken ahead of time; if there's anything more than irritation at the site or a mild fever, the infirmary is there. There have been no fatalities from innoculations."

. . . okay. There were a couple. But that was for a different reason; he's sure of this batch.

Tom nods. Sometimes potions have adverse effects, as well.

"I bet it tastes terribly foul, eh?"

Yeah, he's still not quite getting the concept of inoculations.

"You don't drink it. You could, but results would be nonstandard. You inject it through the skin. I worked out dosage to height and weight about a week ago."

Outside, people gather, before Wesker asks for everyone's attention. He's not able to pay attention to everyone, either. He's busy setting up. Mingle!

It's somewhat...precious to expect Bond to "mingle" in the traditional sense when he's looking at a mission. He more or less scouts, observing what it is (and who it is) he has to work with. His first move it to immerse himself in the crowd and yet, somehow, detach himself from the crowd just enough so that he could observe them all without being heavily noticed. He thinks this may be a bit of a lost cause, here. If Wesker's assembled a good team, everyone will do the exact same thing he's doing.

Still, bad habits, as they say, die hard, and this particular bad habit has kept Bond ahead of the situation in the past. He's unwilling to switch it of just yet, no matter how observant the other people may be.

He is, at the very least, watched with amusement. The tall, dark woman with the old eyes and ageless face has no fears about showing her feelings on his actions.

Bond's reaction to antagonism, or perceived antagonism, is to laugh. Or at least smile or grin. He chooses to grin--that famous annoying smirk of his.

So, evidently, just between Bond and the woman, this pre-meeting time is an amusement party.

Sharpe's just listening, taking it in, and his eyes flick to the vials and the pills. He's not a great fan of medicine, but he'll take preventatives.
