Holy Mother of God. Does anyone know if sleeping pills actually work? I can't remeber the last time I nodded off before 4 am, only to be woken up by Dave Grohl's searing voice from that simply delightful girl next door 5 hours later. Maybe I should join a brain tumor support goup or start some kind of physical club...

See, I adapted my list from better minds (webcomic authors) who did theirs on the same one-song-per-artist principle as you. My list was my Top 100 songs, and since I naturally like some artists more than others, I have included multiple songs on mine. Mine is about honesty more than diversity. Certainly an interesting list anyway. I feel I know you better now.

It was really because half the list would have comprised of Radiohead and Pixies otherwise. But given that stipulation, that's a pretty accurate account of my favourite 50 songs, I love them all.

It's interesting which songs you have chosen to represent each artist. One man's Airbag is another man's Lucky, I guess.

If you can get ahold of some melatonin (apparently illegal in the UK, but flows as freely as tap water in the US), it usually works really well for adjusting your circadian rhythms and helping you sleep. If you need a quick fix, benadryl works wonders, but can give a groggy antihistamine hangover in the morning. I think most OTC sleeping pills are actually just re-packaged, overpriced antihistamine tablets.

Procrastination *is* a massively overused word. I said much the same to diversify_ and climbingrose_ (it won't be long now 'til I start referring to people by their LJ handles in face-to-face conversation) this afternoon. I'm pretty sure most students at this university only learned it once they'd got here and use to it lend their pissing about an element of lettered cool. Well, they're wrong, dammit.

Nice list. Can't believe I forgot Clubbed to Death.

Yeah, well I realised that if we're playing by the rules then clubbed to death isn't actually a song. So I'll take this opportunity to replace it with 'There She Goes' by the La's.

By the way, i've decided to become friends with your group. It's too late this term, I know, but one of my housemates mentioned that we still have two more left so.... be warned.
