“Dear Mr Nitch-Smith,

Your band’s demo was recently brought to my attention. Our label remains one of the few left that still listens to sent in tapes, and as such we are often flooded. However your recordings immediately took our interest. I’m about to take a two month trip to Los ( Read more... )

That's definitely exciting! Foot in the door, indeed.

Do you have any demos available online? Not that I can help you, but if it's possible, I'd like to give it a listen.

Dude. You best not be doing a Johnnymatt with this one. That is awesome, congratulations. Rough Trade is a great label, that's a fantastic opportunity.

(laughs) I realised when I posted it that my reputation might raise eyebrows but thankfully it's the truth. Just think, I could go there and the Fire (is that nick-name ever used?) could be hanging out! Though that's somewhat unlikely.

I'm not allowing myself to get overly excited, it's too early.

Um, if you ever meet the Strokes can I tag along and try and nail one? I have many friends who would also like to join me in this venture . . .

You know, for if you're ever planning a party. 'The Fire' (not *quite* sure about that as a nickname) would have to come too though, what with being better and all. Than the Strokes I mean.
