Usagi is one of my most favorite Sailor Moon characters (along with Minako Aino, Ami Mizuno, and Makoto Kino), but I sometimes felt like the hatred towards her can be really undeserving. But being annoying, silly, and a crybaby is why I love Usagi! And same with Chibiusa, though I've never watched the anime version of Chibiusa.

I don't like Chibiusa in the anime BUT I do like her in the manga. Her friendship with Hotaru is very sweet (which is also one of the few things I liked about her in the anime). And she's actually effective as a fighter and even saves Sailor Moon's life in the Stars arc. She's also written more sympathetically, IMO.

Usagi and Chibiusa are both more mature/grow up quicker in the manga, true. The problem with the manga, for me, is that it rushes through everything too fast. But that's how I feel about most manga, actually. I prefer the anime and the filler because I feel like that develops the characters at a more believable pace.

I love how Usagi takes responsibility as Sailor Moon, especially as the series goes on. It's very powerful and poignant. And her gratitude towards her friends is very lovely to see.

I've always been sad at the Chibiusa hate. The original English dub made her a lot worse than she is in the Japanese version of the anime, too. I wonder how many of the rabid Chibiusa haters might feel differently had they never seen the English dub.

And oh yes, Chibiusa and Hotaru's friendship is just so beautiful and sweet. :) Definitely one of my favorite things about the series.

I agree with everything you said, thank you very much.

And btw, some Chibiusa bashers can be really annoying. I mean, sometimes they would tell you that Chibiusa is an evil incarnated, which doesn't make sense to me.

As for the English dub version of Chibiusa, oh well I also heard the same complaints about her which I agree to an extent. I personally find the English dub version of Chibiusa was kind of a let down, because Chiniusa's personality was totally butchered by the English dub executor. In the original anime version, Chibiusa still showed her positive traits. While in the manga, Chibiusa has a really sweet personality ( ... )
