[The night has come, and it's playtime. While it should occur to Mai that something is wrong, that she isn't acting like normal, the curse she's a victim of is overriding her good sense to make sure she doesn't catch on. She doesn't even question where the

Now he just needs the courage to give it to her.
Sighing, he sets the hair clip on his windowsill and heads to the kitchen for a glass of water. Not exactly liquid courage, but hopefully it would suffice.]

Now. Lights on, should be a warning that maybe this isn't a good idea, but you know, the danger of almost getting caught makes it that much more fun. Besides people aren't as likely to lock their windows when they are home and awake, right?
And that's why her hand reaches out to press up against the window, testing to see if she can lift it with just one hand.]

Her feet fall silently, and she lands in a low crouch before she began to close the distance between them. Slowly, quietly and ducking into shadows when it looks like he may spot her. It's a challenge, and she loves this test of her stalking ability, his close proximity to the tea shop was just a small bonus.]

There's anticipation running through him, adrenaline causing the blood to rush in his ears. He senses his challenger close but doesn't want to get too far from the tea shop where his uncle sleeps undisturbed.
Zuko slips into the next alley and looks up to catch sight of the ladder. He crouches and launches himself up fluidly to grasp the third bottom rut, using his upper body strength to pull himself up, climbing up, up, up-- then he slips up onto the roof and half-crouches while quickly making his way over the slope to drop down behind a thick chimney.
Waiting.]
