A Breed Stampede!

Mini Synopsis: Dawn tries to train her newly-evolved Piloswine for a contest and encounters some problems. <--- Heh, best synopsis ever!

When this epiosde started I was thinking, "oh great yet another lame filler episode that lacks any interest." However, I was quite mistaken this time, which made me quite happy.

Anyone can be a star in Sinnoh!

This opening scene caught my attention for very odd reasons. It struck as me very bizarre how Sinnoh Now talks about coordinators as if they were your everyday celebrities. I think it has to do with the fact that we only know the first names of people, so everything just sounds really casual. "Kenny won a contest!" It just sounds strange. Oh well, this is just more evidence that I am strange. PS - Nando has 4 ribbons already? Damn, he's good.

So, of course this inspires our own intrepid coordinator to enter her new Piloswine in the next contest. Piloswine? Really? Well, if she insists.

Little did she know...

Another thing that caught my attention was how seemingly random bits of conversation actually carried through the episode. For example, the whole Pokemon diplomacy. Diplomacy? Yes, that is what they said. Apparently, Pikachu is the prime example of a Pokemon Diplomat.

Diplomacy, Gliscor. This is how Pikachu does it.

Of course if Pikachu can be a diplomat, then so can Piplup because these two have become identical apparently. Or it's just that Piplup has to be just as good or something like that. Pfft.

Anything you can do, I can do better!

On to the important part of the episode. Dawn and her lovely fluffy Piloswine. Dawn's lucky she's such an optimist. Which brings me to another weird observation I made. Dawn is "swishy." I know girls in Pokemon tend to be more girly in their movements, but Dawn really has something going on. WTF? Why do I notice stuff like this?

So much movement just to throw a Pokeball...

Yeah Piloswine! I love this shot.

Like Ash's Charizard before, Dawn has problems with her Piloswine. Unlike Charizard however, Piloswine somehow looks much less like a jerk doing it. Yes, no, opinions anyone?

The boys are not impressed, but hey you guys, Dawn's an optimist!

I LOL'd at Piplup's FAIL diplomacy. Nice try there.

Things get totally out of hand when Dawn tries to encourage Piloswine by feeding it. The following chain of events were epic for a filler episode and I loved it. Especially the extra serious ultra dramatic music that played. THIS BE SERIOUS BUSINESS GUYS.

OMG! RUN AWAY!

1..2..3.. and Poof! Gliscor learned Fire Fang!
Everyone is impressed.

Happiny shows everyone how it's really done.

Meanwhile, TR is relaxing and apparently getting ready to eat some cake. I laughed when it was Jesse who made the cake. She doesn't seem like someone who would be that great of a cook. *shrugs*

Let them eat cake!

Unfortunately for them, Piloswine has an appetite big enough to push the plot along. So no cake for you. This is all too much for Dawn and she finally gets mopey about not being able to control/ bond with her newest Pokemon.

No! Not the sparkly eyes of despair!

Despite her new found troubles, I know something's going to turn around eventually. Dawn got all depressed when she couldn't even get past the appeal round of contests, but now she's doing fine. Something will come along that will be help her solve this problem too. I'm hoping for something dramatic. ^_^

Enter TR's scheme of the day. A program that promotes friendship? There should be something like that for real. TR may be on to something. LOL.

Sweet (but so random) disguises!
Also, "23 skidoo" = something rock stars say? Ok...

I love Jesse's outfit for some reason.

The obstacle course was kind of cool and I bet it would be fun to run that with some Pokemon. Oh yeah, I laughed when Jesse said something about Pokemon being your BFFs.
- Hey Dawn, who're you texting?
- IDK my BFF Piloswine.

Brock and Croagunk hand-holding FTW!

Athletic Coach!James FTW! That outfit and that pose, OMG LOVE!

[INSERT BIG MUSICAL NUMBER HERE]

In fact, TR should really just give up being villains. They should become professional dance choreographers and make so much more money. They certainly know what they're doing and sometimes their moves are impressive. LOL.

All that's missing is the Jazz Hands.

Anyways... back to the show. Oh yeah. Piloswine evolves into Mamoswine. That was fast. I loved how Mamoswine kicked TR out of there without really trying. Its charge looked more like it was ambling along at a leisurely pace. Real evidence of how awesome Mamoswine is!

Hell yes! MAMOSWINE!

Behold the mighty Mamoswine!

Of course Mamoswine is no more responsive to Dawn than Piloswine was. This time, though, the prospect of getting charged by her Mamoswine is just a little bit scarier than getting charged by Piloswine. LOL. I commend Piplup on her efforts to stop Mamoswine I really do, but...

Bug vs Windshield. Yes, yes?

So Dawn has a bit of work ahead of her. *understatement much?*
Next time - BYRON IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!

Someone is excited...
