Travel insurance starts July 3 and ends August 14th. Between August 14th and 29th I'll be in WA, mostly backpacking. In case I fall of a cliff or something, I need insurance (probably endemic ( Read more... )

Won't you be able to get health insurance through Michigan, once at Michigan? For that matter, is it possible you could get it from them now, if you're already enrolled? (This makes it look like it, yes? Maybe? http://www.uhs.umich.edu/msa#eligibility You could also call and ask, if you haven't already.) I don't know how that works in terms of not being in Michigan the whole time, but it seems like school insurance would expect you to be bouncing about.

Now that I'm a student again, I'm able to get back on my parents' health insurance for free. But I think that option ends once you're 25, even if you are still a student...

I AM GOING TO SEE YOU SO SOON.

Silly roommate! If there were streamlined logical health insurance then somebody would actually have to PAY when you get injured! This way they can all discount responsibility and save their hard-earned money!

Until 26 under the new healthcare bill, and it oh-so-unconveniently kicks into gear this fall, when we both turn 26.

God you people are so old.

<-turns 25 in 2.5 weeks

Unfortunately health care is rationed under a system where rich people get to decide who deserves to get it because rich people are the only ones with enough capital to put together a system that can provide health care, or fail to profitably.
