I am now halfway through the last scene in swampmonsters. I reached this point at approximately 4:03 last night and realized suddenly that a decision needed to be made I was not actually all that sure about. My advice, which has probably been beaten into the ground by now, is write what you want to write and what you're good at. You'll never succeed at anyhting else because another person who is writing what they want and what they're good at is going to beat you. This isn't as disheartening as it sounds.
Remember that most of the people that made it in history were the one's writing, painting, composing what they wanted to and not what was the norm.
Also, if you don't enjoy it then why do it? And, Mere, you don't really enjoy writing memoirs short stories that aren't minature books... unless I've missed something.
