Oh ho ho. You only wish the title were a joke.

As many of you know because you were present, I had a CD release party the other night. Many of you also left unopened booze at my house. Thank you, I will take care of that for you. Just to play devil's advocate; why do we need an identity as a nation? Why is it so important and do other nations besides America and Russia really have one? Why isn't it more important to have an individual identity?

Also, sense you seem interested, you can find this same search in music. Both Russia and the U.S. fought to find a musical identity to strengthen that of their national one. They brought in composers from France, Italy, Germany and England in an attempt to learn and then create their own musical style. Russian had already done this by the time the U.S. was attempting it and we actually brought in Russian composers to create our own "musical identity."
