An important warning, courtesy of the Madame: "Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason", is not, as formerly published, a romantic comedy, but rather an Horror Movie, featuring Da Chin
The thing is - I really liked the first movie. It was witty and really fun to watch. I didn't expect such a disappointing sequel. Not only has Rene become Gargentuan and quite disgusting to watch, but her character was turned into a shallow foolish bimbo with the depth of a cardboard (quite an achievement for someone with such spatial presence and 3 chins). I couldn't suspend Mark Darcy falling in love with such a creature. Deep down, I know he was screaming: "Where is my Elizabeth Bennet?!"
well, darcy in this movie is a stiff, so no reason or him not to fall in love with the buffoon. but apart for that, i resent what you say - as much as rene resambles a marshmallow fluff in this movie (damn she has an ugly body, even when she is thin and muscular you can see it) i have to take a stand for us 3 chinned (and more!) women. don't we desrve a colin firth if we decide we want one? i think we do!
Ha, but WE have personality to go along with the chins, whereas the marshmallow doesn't. And I don't know about you, but I wouldn't allow such close-up pictures to be taken of my chin. Let alone turn it into the leading character of a movie.
As for Rene - you are right - even when she is/was/will be thin, she has the most masculine body language I have ever seen.

Yes, I see a difference: she is presenting her body to the world, and you're not. It's no excuse.
