Go try killing a squirrel or something and keep it nearby. It will come alive again within 24 hours.

I also happen to remember my own death, which makes me assume that this... strangeness applies to humans as well.

I am dead, yes. I'm fairly certain that this is the afterlife. Considering how badly my chest was hurting when I awakened here.

I would assume that others have suffered the same fate.
