I was bummed to be back at my apartment after 17 days of the high-life (dog-sitting for the rich). No garage and winter seems to have reared its ugly head again. I woke up late and dragged my carcass out of bed, got ready for work, and saw the sleet enveloping my car. Oh joy. The morning was more sleet, then it warmed up enough to have heavy rains that blew sideways all day. It let off for a while, only to begin again about 2 minutes before I locked up the store to leave.
My only thought was to get some food, get home, and change into my sweats. Of course, I stopped at CVS for Dr. Pepper, only to find they didn't have any. I drove the opposite way from my apartment to stop at mom's to pick up a carton, stopped at the Coney place for a slider and two dogs, then went home. Of course, the tank is almost on empty, but couldn't be arsed to stop. I'm sure I'll regret it once it turns cold tonight and I'm standing in the rain tomorrow morning pumping gas. That means I'll have to get up a tad earlier to do that. Ugh!
The boss is leaving Friday until next Thursday to see his son in California. I'm glad he'll be gone, but I don't really care about being bored out of my skull or having to listen to potential customers or whiny past customers. I'm just not a people person. My new fave dog-sitting client joked that her and her fiance should put me on a retainer, so I'll be available at a moment's notice to sit for them. Hey, I'm all for that. I've got a couple of dog jobs coming up for someone, then it's back to the rich folks again. She's booked me for a few weeks during the summer, over Thanksgiving and Christmas. Now she's looking into September since they want to try and get married then. I'm starting to think of the room that I sleep in, over at her house, as mine.
Well, cheers everyone. Hope you are warm and dry. I'm off to try and clean up my fave folder....again.
