A Bloodstain is orange after you wash it three or four times in a tub

I feel like I was out to sea for months and I just reached land for the first time in ages. I want to kiss my monitor. I want to listen to my music as loud as possible. Its been so long, Windows. I missed you.

If you were one of the lucky few people I bitched to a few days ago about me losing points for using Windows on my Computer Science programming assignment, then you already know part of the story (and by me saying that, those who I didnt bitch to know part of the story). The school doesnt want you to use Windows (more specifially, Microsoft Visual Studio C++(the people reading this who know what Im talking about already know this...)), so I was looking for alternatives. After downloading this weird Cygwin program that my teacher recommended, i decided to test my luck at Dual Booting.

For those of you who dont know what Dual Booting, its kinda what it sounds like. Its setting up your computer so that it can load two operating systems. So I decided to use Fedora, which is what the school uses, and I have the most experience in.

So I did some research, and decided to go for it. This is yesterday night. I downloaded the cds, burned them, backed up my music (the one thing I was really afraid of losing), popped the first cd, and rebooted my computer.

Long story short, I erased everything on my second hard drive, made that the linux drive, and installed. Everything went fine, except for the fact my internet wouldnt work. I work frantically into the night to find a solution, but nothing. I even repartitioned my second hard drive, getting rid of linux, but that caused problems becuase I couldn't get back into Windows. I re-install Linux then, but i still cant figure it out. So I sleep.

Wake up, try again, nothing. At this point im frustrated out of my mind. I go to school just so i can do some research after class in the computer lab and find out whats wrong with my computer. This leads to nothing as well, because i dont really know what im looking for. I get bored as I often do on computers, and surfed over to the ucr community, where, out of chance, i read that Charter cable had an internet outage from 12 to like 3 this morning, which is right when Im doing all of this Linux crap. then I see James online, and he says that the internet is back on in the apartment. AWESOME! I thought it was me who killed the internet, but nope!

Fast forward to after school. I turn on my computer (in Windows), and nothing. Still no internet. I try Linux, and what??!?!? The internet works.

Fast forward even more, after another Linux reinstall (this time, not in hopes of fixing the internet, but instead of making more room for windows on the harddrive and less for linux), I get the internet on windows working (this was like.... 20 minutes ago). It turns out one of the many things I did to try to fix it when it wasnt really broke really broke it. Go figure.

But Im happy now. I haven't figured out how to access my stuff in windows (like all my music and pictures and such) on linux yet. I feel so much more at home on Windows. Tomorrow Im gonna have to use Linux though, for CS, so that should be exciting.

I think I have everything just how I want it, space wise. 120 gigs for windows, 20 for linux. I still think thats hella space for linux. at least for what I'm using it for.

All things technological lately have been against me. My ipod ran out of batteries before i left the house because my charger sucks on monday. As soon as a buy a new tv for the living room, the tv in my room starts to lose its picture. The oven almost catches on fire on wednesday night, and now it doesnt work at all. While making fries on the stove today, the power goes out, twice. I think its a sign.

I saw the girl again today, but she was talking to someone else, so I didnt say anything to her.

Also my good friend eSmi came over today. She played DDR for a while, made some french fries, took some shots, then played Karaoke Revolution. And all of those things are fun with eSmi, especially the fry part. eSmi singing(screaming?) at the top of her lungs to Frank Sinatra is always fun!

Its warm milk and cookie time. later!
