My old house.

Okay so I'm new here and this is my first post, my friend introduced me to this site and I decided to type up what I went through when I was younger .

Alright, so I lived in this house for 13 years, from when I was brought from the hospital after I was born until the day we decided to move out. Well, I can't remember much, or anything at all about ( Read more... )

Thank you for sharing this. I went to school with a guy who claimed his house did the same thing. He would swear the house it's self was out to get him. Anyways, thanks for sharing.

Yeah, for some reason I think the house was crazy. Gave me my fair share of scares I know that.

Sometimes it's the land the house is built on. Ever tried to find out if a reservation had been there before, or perhaps a burial ground or something? Often it can be a thing that is haunted, a place itself, or a person. Glad it didn't follow you. What worries me is that you said you saw it at your sister's place. Is she still experiencing things?

The shadow that I saw didn't seem to be interested in others, it only seemed to watch me, it was outside of her house standing next to the driveway watching me leave as we left. Nothing seemed to go on at my sister's place though. I did call her and tell her that I had seen a figure, but nothing seemed to bother her. As for our house, I'm not really sure if it was built on some form of reservation or burial ground, I might actually check into that at some point.

The description you gave "dark shadowy figure standing in the doorway" sounds more like a Shadow Person encounter than a haunting. With Shadow People they are usually seen as three dimensional shadows in the shape of a person often wearing a long coat and wide brim hat or a smaller figure in robes or some other body covering cloth. They are seen almost exclusively via peripheral vision and seem to do nothing but watch, follow and generally observe a particular person. They are often seen at night standing in the door way or at the foot of the bed just watching. Sometimes but not in every a strange feeling of anxiety or foreboding accompanies the appearance. Instances in which they interact with the people they are watching are exceedingly rare and reports of any harm caused by them are even rarer. It's generally accepted that they aren't actually spirits of deceased humans but something else entirely. The theories run the gamut from extra dimensional visitors/observers to Tulpas or thought forms.

Just my .02 cents

I wouldn't doubt that it is what you call a "shadow person." Cause that would be basically the only time I would actually see it, out of the corner of my eye while attempting to go to sleep, other than that one occasion that I saw it at my sister's house. I never felt bothered or threatened by it, just knowing that something was watching me while I tried to go to sleep was the only thing that would go through my mind. I don't think this was the cause of why we felt eerie around certain parts of the house though since those focus points were in my parent's room and in the basement.
