Two nights ago I was sleeping, when I sort of work up. I was facing the window in my room, but I could feel a presence behind me, and I don't mean my mom or dad. I have no idea of what it was, but I closed my eyes and tried to will it away. Seems like sleep paralysis, a dream, or a vivid imagination to me.

Yes, definitely sleep paralysis. Tingling, feeling a presence in the room. Classic symptoms. I've been having that on and off for years. It is very scary but it is because you've woken up while your body is still in paralysis mode which it does to prevent you acting out your dreams I'm told. I get a humming noise in my head as well when its happened to me.
Stress and anxiety can cause it so it may be worth trying to find out if you're worried about something in your waking life.

I'm going through nursing school, so I am definitely stressed and anxious.

Sounds like sleep paralysis. [luckily it didn't seem to last long enough for you to experience trying to move or scream, yet you can't].
