Unwanted Houseguest

This happened ten years ago, and at the time I was deeply clueless about what we actually had in our house. That's the biggest reason I'm posting it here: for common knowledge. It's also just a rather intriguing occurrence, or perhaps you've had similar experiences so this will help you feel less crazy. But at least after reading this, you'll know

Thanks, though there was honestly so much going on at that time that I barely had time to reflect on how scary the situation really was, let alone how serious it could have become. I was lucky in that it left as soon as my life calmed down.

Yep, the community doesn't see much action but I've always found it intriguing here :)
And thanks so much, I appreciate that a lot--thankfully nothing more came of it after it up and left. I'm sure it was opportunistically feeding off the emotions from my therapy. I've had other small experiences with things hanging around since, but nothing nearly as malevolent or as strong as this one. Usually they're just inquisitive things that are easily chased off.
Have you ever had an experience like this?

I've never lived in a haunted house. I'd had ghosts and demons drop by, and I've had to remove supernatural visitors, but I've never endured a prolonged stay

Yeah, this incident was far from normal. At least, I sincerely hope it was.
