That "strange void" is wacky. Our review week and finals week are scheduled backwards from the end of the year (which is itself partly determined by snow days). Our last non-review class is this Friday (which, coincidentally, is also the last day of MCAS), followed by review for the next six school days. Then comes five days for finals (including a Monday make-up day), a half-day last day for students, and the half-day last day for teachers on Wed. Jun. 24.

Your schedule makes SO much more sense. But for us, we had the same strange void last year. A full week after finals. It's made worse this year, because of the year's extension to compensate for the snow days. Not like anything's really going to happen on those days.
