I like summer school. It gives structure to my weeks and days. Without it, summer vacation might just turn into a tedious swamp of undifferentiated days. Your feelings about summer school exactly mirror mine -- it gives structure to your days, and produces a little found-seeming money...nothing like drawing two paychecks at once!

My current gig is nice because, like yours, it's Monday to Thursday. What's not so nice are seven hour teaching days; and by seven hours, I mean two two-and-a-half-hour intensives and one two-hour intensive. My feet ache by the end (and of course, my bus ride home affords no seats for the weary).

Still, it's good to be in the classroom again, and it's lovely to wake up on a Friday morning with a full, lucrative work week behind you and a three day weekend ahead.

Seven hour days?? Yuck! Not nice at all. But you're probably getting a double paycheck; I'm being paid $40/hour for a nominal five point five hour day. (Which it is, if you count my commute. Actual teaching time is only four hours).

And yes, it's lovely to have a nice long weekend (and a short week) ahead of you time and again!
