I don't *love* bacon. I think it is OK.

I don't find Stuff Geeks Love funny at all. Stuff White People Like is funny (but painful) because I perceive it as insightful (and, to my great shame, I often find myself brutally lampooned). Stuff Geeks Love leaves me cold. Have I stopped being a geek? I always thought of myself as being one, but have felt really outside of the clique lately.

I eat bacon very rarely, because the fat and salt are a bit overwhelming. I think the geeks liking bacon post is referring to a relatively recent (last five years, I think) internet phenomenon of inordinate fixation. You can find photos of bacon parties where people wear nothing but bacon, etc.. Most of the time, I think these propagating memes are a fairly harmless way for people to establish some interests in common instead of awkwardly searching through the conversation space.

As far as I can tell, there isn't a universally accepted definition of geek, but you may be the "wrong kind of geek".
