Tess left Watchtower at practically a run, despite the dull ache throbbing in her shoulder. If anything it made her more determined to succeed, a reminder of just how much hell they'd brought into her life lately. Checkmate would pay.
She reached her rental car in mere moments. Once she'd confirmed for about the thousandth time that her weapons were loaded and ready to go, Tess radioed Anthony and his team to make sure they were in place. And to reiterate that they were not to make a move until she arrived and gave the okay. They may all be aware this could turn into a suicide mission, but she wasn't about to lose her best men for nothing if Chloe didn't come through.
Fortunately, it was clear once she'd arrived at the Castle that Chloe had. Sirens were blaring, lights were flashing and people were running around like they'd never had to deal without technology before. Tess couldn't help but smile. She gathered her troops, briefed them one last time and then they set off inside.
Agent Campbell wasn't hard to find, nor was it surprising for him to try and explain his way out of it. She was a traitor, after all. He was only following orders. Tess let him beg for his life and then put him out of his misery for good. He may have survived a bullet to the head before, but the range was closer and Tess decided on three this time. It seemed like a good number.
Waller was next on the list and Tess fought her way further into the building, but to no avail. Time was running short and they had to get out. Besides, the White Queen wasn't going to be so powerful after this whether she lived or died by Tess' hand or not. And for now, that would have to be enough.
She regrouped with her team, pleased to see Anthony had survived, and gave one final order before she headed back to her own castle.
"Burn it. Burn it to the ground."
