Americans suck sometimes. 3,000 people die on American soil, we throw a fit. 44,000+ people die in Asia, and life goes on as normal.

Yes one was due to terrorism, and the other to a catastrophic natural event, but still. The story may make the headline news, but no one truly cares. Lame.

Word. You like CNN not covering the story RIGHT when it happened because they thought it'd ruin the spirit of Christmas. Excuse them, but the last time I checked, the spirit of Christmas was about sharing, caring and empathizing with those in need. Not mentioning a worldly disaster so that our moods aren't too spoiled to enjoy our turkeys is NOT what the Baby Jesus's birthday was about.

America has some fucked up priorities.

Ya, it's ridiculous. Baby Jesus totally would have shown more sympathy.

Yea I guess Bush says the U.S. is giving about 30 or 40 million, but I don't know...I can't see him caring much about what going on there. Who knows how much we have spent "rebuilding" Iraq.

yeah the news media has some really messed up values and loyalties. this is what makes me not want to get into the business but then again makes me want to go in there and change it all around, but that would take a lot of work for sure. i just need to find a station that is all about the news and stayin loyal to their viewers not a station who wants ratings and do what the government tell them to do...do you guys see my dilema???

it's gonna be hard to find a news station that are both those things, but you gotta work within the system first to fix the system. you're gonna totally change it up and be the next barbara walters....except without that annoying lisp and not make everyone you interview cry.

Well, When You Look at Birth and Mortality Rates in the U.S. as Compared to Japan... dandilyon5 December 29 2004, 22:51:52 UTC
When it comes to birth-mortality rates 44,000 Japanese people is like 3,000 Americans. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. You make a valid point, "nobody" cares... but uh... did the Japanese honestly give a damn about us during/after 9-11 ( ... )
