With
ash_grey_sky away, I've had nothing to do except home improvement projects. It started with the simple task of mowing the lawn this morning when the dog woke me up at 7:30 and culminated with the installation of 30' of guttering on the side of the house. Luckily my dad offered to help with the gutters or I'd still be out there.
We managed to measure, level, chalk, mount brackets, join and seal the sections, fit the downspout, and mount and lock the gutters before hitting a major snag. Turns out it's impossible to get a regular drill to drill holes in brick, even with a magic masonry bit, so my dad will have to bring home a better drill from his office on Monday. Until then there's no downspout yet. 98% done is pretty damn good for an afternoon.
Tomorrow all I have to do is wash and wax my car and then start on my article for MSDN Magazine. Thankfully,
ash_grey_sky and I both agree that getting published in a technical periodical (even one as ubiquitous as MSDN) doesn't count as real publishing and she doesn't have to smack me :)
