Just got back from picking up my new toy.
It's a 2007 BMW Z4 Coupe in Montego Blue.
I got the black interior with aluminum trim, the sport package, the premium package, and M sport seats. Then we drove it 1200 miles back to Dallas. ash_grey_sky will post a trip writeup shortly, but for now, here's some car porn.
We picked it up at the factory where we got a day on the track with an instructor and an individual introduction to the car where they showed us all the features and stuff. It was sitting in an individual bay with everything all laid out.
It's got a 255hp inline 6 that I wasn't allowed to flog for the first 1200 miles.
One of the instructors lives in Asheville, NC so he lead us on a scenic 1.5 hour drive up there.
The leaves on the trees were changing colors, the road was twisty, and it was a blast. ash_grey_sky tried to take some pictures while we were driving, but they all came out like this:
I think that captures the idea pretty well.
I had to park it at the hotel when we got there, which made me incredibly nervous. Luckily I could obsess out the window at it.
We drove from Asheville to Florence, AL to see some family. Some awesome family.
Eventually we made it home (after stopping in Memphis for some ribs, Little Rock to peek at the Clinton Home Base, and Hot Springs for a mineral bath and a massage). It rained on us, but that's ok.
