When you're old and married like me, an exciting Friday night involves buying a $400 vacuum cleaner and then vacuuming the entire house, marveling at all the crazy crap you pick up even though you vacuumed with the old cleaner only a few days ago.

I totally hear you. The first week with the new Dyson was so fun. The cannister is clear so you can watch it fill up (in my case, with pet fur). It was like collecting hairy treasure.

We were both amazed and appalled at how much stuff it managed to pick up.

Turns out we've been living in filth and didn't even know it.
