What's a holiday without a trip to the ER?

During basketball this morning someone dropped their shoulder into my throat while trying to steal the ball. It sucked. Then I lost my voice. After a CT scan, hours of waiting, and a shot in the butt I'm home again with a prescription for Vicodin. Fun.

Yikes! That sounds awful. :-/ I hope you heal quickly.

On the other hand...vicodin. Take some & try listening to Rush Limbaugh to see if he makes any sense. Apparently it was his drug of choice.

My voice is still shot but the vicodin made me not care so much.

That blows. I hate when people act like assholes during casual pick-up games.

This guy is still pretty low on the asshole scale. He's incredibly athletic (like less than 5'8 and can almost dunk) and was probably just trying way too hard to get the steal. He still rates as an asshole though for not checking the ball up and owning up to his foul. Oh well.

It wasn't until I got home and started reading how bad it could have been that I started getting worried. I played for another hour and a half after it happened, which meant I definitely would have noticed the most serious possible consequence (airway closing up). It would have been tough to run with no air.
