I played Assassin's Creed 2 for about 6 hours yesterday, in two 3 hour blocks.

I didn't mean to.

Just one more viewpoint, I said. Just one more treasure box. Just one more leap from a building blade first onto someone's face.

I've been on the fence about getting that game. Is it worth it?

It's amazing. I watched a_hollow_year play the first one and I didn't think it was worth it, but the sequel is better in every way.

It's like Prince of Persia only with better combat and a more open world.

That really does sound amazing. I owned the first one but sold it before I finished it - the monotony wore me down after a while. I think I'll have to pick this one up.

Question, though: How much does it require one to know the story/end of the first game?

Not much really. a_hollow_year gave me a few sentences of summary. If you played a bit of the first one you know the general idea of what the plot was about and that's all you really need I think.
