The Doctor's last line has so much emotion behind it, and I have to give Chris massive kudos for always bringing my tears on that one.

So true, so true. I don't know how many times I've watched that episode, but the delivery on that line, wow.

I really agree with you on how "Father's Day" really helped the Doctor see Rose as a real person and not just an ideal companion/person. I haven't heard it put that way before but you explained it very well and it rings completely true.

I'd actually not thought much about it myself until recently, when I started seeing people being highly critical of Rose's actions in "Father's Day". When I really thought about it, it occurred to me that it came so soon after the Doctor proclaiming Rose as one of "the best" that of course it had to be a shock for him that she was human. I'm glad the argument rang true for you; I was a bit surprised to realize it myself, but I believe it really works for their relationship. Thank you so much for your kind words! :D

Beautiful. Makes me miss Nine very much. I couldn't pick a favourite from Series One. I love them all.
