I've been having a mildly crazy and stressful week here at college, and I'm not quite settled down into this weekend yet (still one more class and work to go!), but I wanted to make a small PSA and a thank you.
That PSA of sorts would be that
The Time Is Out of Joint, my Amy/Rory/River fic, has taken second place in the First Trip challenge at

It's been so nice to finally start getting to know you; you're probably one of the kindest people I've ever seen on here! Like I said elsewhere, I love that who_contest is so welcoming and fun; I think it does a lot to foster a sense of community, and it helps that the members are so kind.
I really do appreciate all the kind words about my fics--I've only been writing in the fandom for just over a year, and sometimes it's easy to feel so new and inexperienced next to others in the fandom. I forget sometimes that I actually have readers, so it made me smile and giggle a bit when I saw you and fate_incomplete talking about my fics and my style--do I have such a thing? News to me. ;) I've really appreciated your being willing to know me, and I hope to get to know you more, too!

I liked the addition of Julian. I think it was a very interesting choice, in exploring where Amy and Rory's lives would go, and River's interest in staying in contact with her relatives.
I think there is a lot of potential with River, and stories that people write are her only chance to become fully realized as a character. :)

Thanks so much for the kind words about Time; as you read, I was so nervous about how people would receive that one. The more I thought about that scenario, the more I realized how truly hard it would be for River to stay in contact, how many lies Amy and Rory would have to tell, and the inherent dishonesty in all three's relationship to Julian--none of which is his fault. Though the ending there was pretty definitive, I'm hoping to do a little bit more with it in the future. At the very least, I'm hoping to write a scene between all three of the Ponds and Julian at once; it was initially supposed to be Amy's section, until I started describing the meeting in the park as backstory-esque prose and realized I wanted that story to be the one I told for Amy. In the words of Ten, "it got away from me, yeah..." ;)
I feel the same way about River; there's so much about her ( ... )
