LOL.... Emily is great, Andy is awesome, Serena is totally awesome, but my God, Miranda.... she is...soooo... Miranda! There's just no other word for it. The image of Miranda laying face down in the dirt yet asking... 'we lost...'... hilarious... and so very cool it makes me love Miranda even more!

What a great chapter.

Thanks for reading, dear. Actually, that reminds me of when my brother and I went to one of our university's softball games. The pitcher (at that time) was about the fastest pitcher in the U.S. She pitched the ball, which happened to hit the batter's hand (breaking it, btw) and it bounced off her hand with enough speed to hit her on the head, knocking her unconscious and the catcher caught the ball. The first thing this pitcher did was march toward the umpire and say "So what?! Does that means she's out?" Yeah. Out in a couple of ways. I imagine Miranda that way.

Thanks, as always for commenting.

Yowsa! I wish they could televise that match and no mistake! :-)

Really found the bit with Lily realising that she needed to grow up very telling indeed. I had a job and my first apartment of my own when I was 17 but I sure as hell wasn't grown up, there's a big difference between the trappings and the reality of adulthood.

I do love the strange dynamic of Emily/Serena and Miranda/Andy, and their sort of round-robin crushing, but erm, I really don't see Andy standing back and letting Emily check Miranda over first, but that's just me heheh.

Yowsa!!!!!!!!! The final line!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about getting spiked!!!!!!!!! Loved it!!!!! Loved it!!!!!!!! Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I, too, had to realize that the reality of adulthood had next to nothing to do with what I once imagined. I sometimes have waves of that even today, when I'm no spring chicken.

Sorry if I didn't sell the Emily taking care of Miranda for you. My thought--which was why I had Serena stop Andy from helping--was that this was a trauma Emily had already experienced and I'd imagined was perhaps still suffering over, which was why she was so determined. If it didn't work for you, sorry. But that was my motivation. Thanks so much for your more than kind comments.

And feel free to sing away, btw!

Ahhhhh, gotcha on the Emily angle, oh wise one. Hmmm maybe I should have drunk the coffee first and then read the chapter, heheheheh. I might have caught that layer better then. :-)

And oy, yes the reality of adulthood.... no wonder I try to maintain a firm mental age of 13, old enough to do stuff and young enough to get away with it, LOL.

And noooooooo seriously you wouldn't want to hear my singing, let's just say that Gabrielle in Xena could be considered an Opera virtuoso compared to my fractured notes, LOLOL.

Is it wrong that I get such a thrill when you reply to my comments??? Hehh oh well, TLW things it's rather cool too. Thanks for the oh so many updates so quickly.

Is it wrong that I get such a thrill when a reader writes me? I bet it's not. And I'm sixteen going on seventeen (not!) so I'm sort of not all that mature, either. I'm doing my best with the updates. I have to put this puppy to bed. You're welcome. It's entirely my pleasure.

Serena and Miranda's interaction is brilliant. Loved the comment about gloating while the opponent was still on the ground. Nice. I adore this story and please keep up the great work.

Thanks KD. I'm sort a wiener about people getting hurt but I thought Miranda and Serena are alpha dogs enough to gloat no matter what. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Wiener is a perfectly rational word for...uh...wiener.

Am I wrong?

I love this story. I just reread the entire story, and I have to say it is fantastic. Great update as usual. I love the idea of a domestic/family!Miranda still being entirely Miranda, if you know what I mean. Miranda falling and still being entirely focused on wanting to know if she won is perfect.
I'm beside myself waiting for the next instalment.
Bravo, and Thank you :)

Good God help you--that's a lot of reading. I sort of remember it--I wrote it. I'm glad you like my version of Miranda (we all have our own). Thank you so for reading and for taking the time to comment.

Miranda loves Emily. About bloody time she admits it to her! Love what you did with Lily too. Too much history for them not to. And I'll "pray" for the next chapter to be quick!

Well, that's my artistic license. Perhaps most Mirandas wouldn't admit that to Emily but what the hell--mine would. I'm glad you liked the Lily section and the next chapter will be very soon. Promise. Thank you for reading.
