And what?! Peter out?! I refuse to peter out! (laughing) I want the last three chapters to be deserving of the few that were fun or enjoyable in the 27 before. Thank you, sweetie, for reading and for writing. Now off to the grocery store I go. Need anything?

And the reference to Moby Dick was where I was going, I wasn't going to call you Ishmael. As to petering out, as I can recall another awesome and awesomely massive story that had a phenomenal ending, I'm not too worried about that happening with you.

As for Ishmael, Jess? It's apt.
"Call me Ishmael. Some years ago-never mind how long precisely-having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see..."
I've sailed about and seen. Another story.
I do wish I'd tossed kleenex into the cart for you. I hope you'll enjoy the ending, lass.
Love,

It's the press asking obvious questions again. Love Miranda's answers: “Our reaction? Our reaction is to applaud the sheer journalistic doggedness that led you to the conclusion that Miranda is indeed on the cover of this month’s issue with her employee Serena. Any other questions?”
Miranda tapped her foot as she listened. “What does it mean? It means she’s on the cover with Serena. This is Runway, after all, not The Da Vinci Code. We thank you for your interest. Goodbye.”
Cassidy-Caroline scene -- awesome.
Serena-Miranda scene -- awesome.

I like inane questions a lot--so I'd imagine Miranda would like them even more. And I think the fashion world would be particularly susceptible to reading hidden messages in...scarves or even worse.
I'm glad you enjoyed the particular scenes you mentioned for a writer's reasons.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Except that having a definite end in sight = very close to heartbreaking.

And I'll PM you about the other writing we were discussing....

You know what? 'Real' writers rarely get instant feedback. They don't know their writing means anything to the people who read them in the instant they read it. That's one of the pleasures of writing fanfic. To know I made you happier today, if only for a few minutes, makes me happier. Thank you for reading and I do hope your weekend is better than your week.
Thanks for the comment.
