You realise this will involve the trying on of garments. And the CHOOSING of said garments. And then no doubt some kind of present your mother can pretend she's happy I brought.

And are you after a woman or a think tank, Diggory?

You show up with presents. I don't know why. It's a tradition I memorised. Don't question the few manners I managed to salvage.

Okay, Diggory. If her breasts are bigger than her ribs, she's a woman. If not, she's still a girl. You decide what she is.

I said I'd do anything, didn't I? You come up to Gryffindor tower and we'll have a look! We're about the same size; I think I'm a little less muscular than you are but that should be all right since most of my clothes are a little big on me anyway. I lost weight these past few months!

Much appreciated. Most of my clothes make me look rather punishing, and while that's fine with me, I think the Diggorys might not let me in if I come as I am.

Losing weight? What the blazes for?

Oh, it's quite all right! I've got a lovely pastel sweater set that I think they'll like a great deal.

I just noticed I was getting pudgy, that's all, Xiomara! It wasn't much, just one dress size. I'm back down now and feeling much better about things.

But now your balance is off! The utter subconscious knowledge of every heft and lean of the body is GONE, Lily! What will you do now when you're fifteen feet in the air and you lean on a thigh that's not exactly the resistance you thought it was!

I tell you what you'll do, Lily. You'll fall fifteen feet.

And I think pastel is good. I'm trying for as close to white as I can; the idea is to look just bridal enough to get Bernardine thinking Diggory's bagged himself an Arctic virgin.

Ah. Yes, of course, as I am neither a "guy," nor do I personally know any "girls."

Oh dear. I'm sorry, Ted and I were out walking last night. Cold, wasn't it?

I don't have any clothing that could ever hope to fit you, small and round as I am, but do you know what I do have?

JEWELRY

Actually, I'm quite broad in the hips and legs. Quidditch, you know. Muscles like a centaur. If you have a white skirt, perhaps?

And jewlery? That's the stuff that goes around the head and neck area?

But I'm so much larger 'round the waist, even before the baby. It will just hang from your hips and drape very, very badly. You will look like a strange lumpy thing, and you are not that.

Yes, darling. Head and neck and even hands!
