I will admit to being severely biased to standard poodles - not the namby-pamby poseurs of the toy and miniature varieties. I have always known standards to be jesters and soldiers, fiercely loyal and I'm-glad-they-don't-have-thumbs smart. So, a standard got Best in Group? WOO HOO! Squee! I want a dawg.
there is a dark grey standard in our neighborhood. Watching him move is a thing of beauty-the way he looks at me, is not. This dog has been trotting around the area every morning for the last three years. I tried to make friends with him. If you are going to eat the outside cats' food, i want to get to know you. But he looks at me out of the corner of his eye, whites shining, and bounds away, barking. On MY property. I have also caught Mr. Pedigree Longer Then a Football Field going through the Garbage, more then once. Beautiful? He moves like the wind. Smart? Not so much. All Dog? Oh, yeah. I guess in the end, they are all dogs, aren't they....
