On this day, I will spend my time honoring my father's memory. His death was avenged, but never justified. Such is the act of war.

I would advise those who aren't remembering their fathers today to think twice on that attitude. Even if you don't know him or if he passed away long ago, he is still the reason you are here.

Hmph. Just because your father is the reason you're here doesn't mean he deserves respect.

On every other day you can spend your time hating him. However, at least once, you should put aside your senseless hatred and acknowledge him. Now is the opportunity to do so.

My hatred is NOT senseless. You people are all the same. Someone who just walks away and doesn't show his face for years doesn't deserve respect.

I can hate him any day of the week I want so what makes one stupid day SO special? It's not thanks-for-knocking-up-my-mom-so-I-could-be-born day. It's father's day.

With your attitude, I am not surprised he abandoned you. If you want respect, you should first learn how to practice it. Perhaps if you had made an effort to fix this distance yourself, things wouldn't have ended up the same way for you. I doubt you made any effort to find him. If you cared, maybe you would have looked for this man yourself.

Nothing in war is ever justified. But you're right... Too many people take their existence for granted.
