You might want to cross post this to the Filker group; there are filkish lawyers who hang out over there and might be able to point you to the relevant statute.
Good advice, though it's pretty clear in this case -- the name and date stay the same, no matter who owns the rights. So the photos are copyright [year they were taken] [name of photographer].
The only exception is work for hire, which requires a written agreement in advance, so it doesn't appear to apply in this case.

He was very surprised to be contacted about rights long after the fact. Most customers never bothered.
