The Two Queens - Dragonriders of Pern
Kylara gets a really raw deal in canon, played off as a one-note villain, and then forgotten as soon as she's provided "OMG ANGST" for the 'good' characters. This story is a very interesting look at what happened to her after. (mature content warning)
The incautious reading of poetry - Echo Baazar
I discovered this game though Yulechat, so it figures that at least one fic based on it should make it on my rec list. I love this one because it catches the atmosphere so well, and it's wonderfully erotic (mature content warning)

An interesting look as to how and why Lucheni narrates the musical...
Waking Dream - Elisabeth
I'm a sucker for Tod/Rudolf fic, and Yuletide always delivers with something dark and twisted. This one is quite wonderful (mature content warning)
Gazing into the Abyss - Elisabeth
Sophie is not a character I'm usually fond of, but this fic made me really like her. Very interesting.
Queen and Pawn Endgame - Exalted
I'll admit, I beta-ed this fic, and liked it then. I love the finished product even more. A great look at the Scarlet Empress after her return to Creation
We Learned by Going Where We Had to Go - Old Kingdom
A very interesting look at Mogget post-series.
Of Depth Perception, Muscles, and Coping - Tanya Huff, Quarters Series
Quartered Sea was actually my least favorite of this series, and I never got in to the romance, but this fic still manages to be very sweet
Open Your Eyes - Robot Unicorn Attack
Poor unicorn. Its running never ends...

Ah, a wonderful little fic that has it's tongue firmly in cheek while purporting to be a serious justification for the Robot Unicorn
The Dress Makes the Man- Scarlet Pimpernel
Percy in a dress. Need I say more? I will. The mystery author has a wonderful ability to mimic the writing style of the series.
If I Could - Rose of Versailles
A wonderful character piece, and I'm a sucker for Oscar/Rosalie ship-ness
Happy Where You Are - Rose of Versaille
Sweet little look inside Rosalie's head.
