The red carpet. I can only hope the Oscars are as... lacking.
Slim pickings. So, the following photo post a mix of bad and good.

Eva Green looked HORRIBLE.
Someone who I was watching it with said she looked good. HOW? HOW CAN SHE LOOK GOOD WHEN THERE'S A BIRD LIVING IN HER HAIR?
Also wrongness of sparklies on the dress and WAY TOO MUCH MAKEUP.
THE HORROR, THE HORROR!

Yes, that is indeed a good summary.

The Eva Green images will not load and the other link is FORBIDDEN.
Apparently the Almighty has decreed that none shall view her upon pain of disintegration.

OK, I looked it up myself OH DEAR GOD. She looks like Liza Minelli's youthful half-melted clone.

Really? Everything's working fine for me. Is it just the text links and/or the actual picture links? Hmmmm. I shall go and photobucket.

Not all the links are working, but the Daniel Craig one is, so bless you for that :-)
Although his companion is wearing one of those really uncomfortable-looking too-low-in-the-front strapless dresses.

I don't know why the links are working for me but not for others. Still, have changed all to Photobucket.
And, yes, that dress is not good. Nevermind it looking like gold foil wrapped around her, it just doesn't flatter.

Dear lord. I can't help thinking that it's apposite for Kylie to be wearing a dress that screams "step back in time". And not in a good way.
I rather like Sienna Miller's dress, actually. I'm completely ambivalent towards her, though.
Helen Mirren kicks ass.
Thandie Newton's frock - I like it; she can pull that stuff off.

I can see how Thandie's different sort of dress straddles the line between dramatic and funny. For me, it falls to the funny.
