Small update: things are going semi-swimmingly. I'm trying to find more work(money), and will probably be working for the board of ed. soon, as a teaching assistant. I was also looking into publishing, but no fish have bit. I am seriously considering starting my masters in education, but am not sure if I have the nerve to pull through, since it ( Read more... )

Haven't heard from you in awhile! Sounds like you have several possibilities in the works, just grab something and I am sure you will do well. Sports are great. Public speaking.....Ewwwwwww. The only way I got through my 11th grade speech class was literally to imagine the entire audience was sitting there in their underwear. Hey simple but it worked for me...I figured surely they must look more foolish than I! Another idea is just say to yourself "What is the worst thing that can happen?" Aside from knocking the podium over or passing out I guess you'd make it through. Just a few tidbits from the past, a good excuse to say hi!

Yeah, friends have told me to imagine them specifically in their underwear, but noted I might start laughing and ruin everything. I'm sure, with time, I'll fall into one of my choices, and hopefully will do well. Thank you. :)

Well I have just learned that if you do not focus on making eye contact it helps. Apparently there is a trick to it. You should focus right above everyone's heads. This way it looks like you are making eye contact and you can relax because you do not have to look anyone in the eye.
In small groups I prefer to make eye contact. But then again, I have been doing this for, what seems to be, forever.

Tennis, basketball, handball let's go....

That's a good idea...just outright avoiding their eyes. Kinda like I'm trying to fake I'm crosseyed, or looking at the wall behind them. It sounds just crazy enough to work!
