[series]: Code Geass
[character]: Kururugi Suzaku
[character history / background]: MY NAME IS KURURUGI SUZAKU. I KILLED MY FATHER. PREPARE TO BE CONFUSED.

Yep that's pretty much it.

...j/k j/k here's the wiki.
[character abilities]: Wiki also does this better.

[character personality]:

Suzaku tends to be a paradox, on one hand he is not only cheerful and idealistic, understanding that Britannia is not the answer to everything and that for the world to truly get along as one, different things need to be done. But also, he believes that that change is something that needs to be done as a group effort, and not by a rebellion, as per the methods of [1] Lelouch. His ideals are something he holds close to his heart--especially from the time where I bring him from. And while he has this positive nature, Suzaku is also suicidal.

Though not in the conventional way--he tends to throw himself on the line to save others without any regard for his own life. Though, Lelouch had geassed Suzaku to live when Suzaku was ordered to sacrifice himself to kill Zero. So now whenever Suzaku wants to throw himself headfirst into certain-death danger for the sake of others or even for himself, he will not. This is because of when Suzaku killed his father because of his father's plans for a do-or-die resistance, and Suzaku was horrified at the destruction it might bring. He carries guilt that if he may die on the front lines, he can atone for that guilt, believing that ends achieved with the wrong means are wholly meaningless.

He doesn't like to fight at all--in episode 5, when attacked by an eleven, he flips him, but doesn't attack back, insisting he cease and desist. He doesn't even act out when they call him a traitor. His pacifistic nature, even in battle, can get him into tight situations, but his determination never lets him falter.

Suzaku's personality takes a dramatic turn when Euphemia is killed by Zero, swearing to kill him for her and getting rid of anyone in his way of doing this. This huge--huge flux in his personality can lead us to believe that he's incredibly morally motivated, and while it can be influenced--Suzaku has a clear vision of what he believes is good. His strong feelings for Euphemia and motivation after her death is what led him to use Lelouch to get into the Knights of Rounds. Of course, he still wishes to kill Zero, but wishes very much that he can clear his doubts about Lelouch, who he considers his friend.

[point in timeline you're picking your character from]: First season, Pre-Ep. 21.

[journal post]: Ahh--? This...This is...

Pardon me--if anyone can hear this at all--[faint noises of static as the device is messed with, knobs are turned, and such]

I'm lost--and it's important, I was somewhere very ...ah, crucial. There's no technology that can pull you from that to a City like this-- Just where is here?

...Lloyd-san won't be too happy if I have the Lancelot out too long, will he? Aha.

[third person / log sample]:

Fight war, and not wars.

Suzaku wants to believe in something like that. It is possible--his nature does not let him believe otherwise. He listens to the words of the Emperor--humans compete to move forward--fight the weaker to evolve. A clear message made clearer in the cries of 'All Hail Britannia' ringing in his ears for months, weeks, years after. It is the chant that has drilled in his mind from the waking moments in the morning to the sleepless nights where he faces the red numbers of his alarm clock until they lose all meaning. Until he fades into sleep to face the words another day.

He believes in the words of his princess--Euphemia. He believes in the good they can do--he doesn't believe in the same good as Zero, and yet, is the the universal good, the unattainable, the kind they talk about in stories and movies, the kind legends talk about after the final bloody battle is fought. Yes, things will always get worse before they get better. He is not so deluded to think otherwise. That is why he boards the Lancelot, that is why he used to throw himself in front of the innocent, the unprotected, whom he thought was he helpless, Wars are never fought for fun. It is a tangled mess--a complicated weave that is so simply cut by merely fighting. By going back to their roots, by de-evolving in human nature--that is the opposite of what the Emperor insisted, is it not?

He believes in the dawn where he can believe--he can know that he won't have to pilot anything, that there will be no bomb alarms or sniper sirens to keep his tired eyes awake.

What's more, he believes that dawn will come in his lifetime--he will make it happen, yes he will.

The world he believes in may not be found by Zero's means, not really, no. He doesn't believe it should be found that way. He almost fears for it being found that way. But the outcome is the same--but if he does not find it the right way, the means makes it meaningless. He thinks this twirling the cracked pocketwatch. His means... they are sacrificial. He was meant to live. What happened to his Greater Good? To everyone's...? The Emperor's? Zero's? He spends too much time thinking, wherever he can get a thought in to why he's doing what he's doing--in brief moments during class, under the hiss of the shower, on the roof and in the crevices of sunset, where he can glance out the window after being lectured by Lloyd on this or that about the Lancelot. He always listened, of course. But his mind was never at rest.

His morals he never questioned. But the means. The means. Were they all hypocrites in the end? Himself included?

He didn't have time to question anything--as much as he didn't like it, as deep as he was getting, he was in War. In war, everything can change in the blink of an eye, including the fact whether you're in danger or in pieces. He had no time to question motives, to rethink his status as who he was, and challenge that in battle.

All he could do anymore, all he could and can trust in, is merely to believe.
