I like Prévert's poem rather better. The change of the seasons is a time of joy; the excitement of the new. The sorrows of the previous season get washed away by the crisp air and the colours; the squeaking of the snow; the first buds; and the comforting warmth.
For some reason I just like the image of two soused snails leaning against each other for support as they squirm down the sidewalk. The only thing that spoils the image is that I recall that beer is used as an anti-slug technique.
