it's been three days and i have yet to recount on my birthday festivities. well, here i am to inform all you eager beavers out there..

day one, August 5: *pictures were taken but on alex's camera, which he wont have in hand with him until sometime next week. at this time, im sure he will willingly send me these pictures to post at a later notice. hang tight*
++++Alex took me to the santa cruz beach boardwalk (beforehand we made a pitstop at safeway to get premade sandwiches for lunch, and later on would learn that we saved ourselves about twenty buckaroos) so after the lovely scenic car ride, we arrived close to noon, picked out a nice serene sand spot to rest on..hahah we started eating our lunch first and the seagulls kept throwing me a "come hither" look, to which alex appropriately put a stop too. thx a bunch. ;)alrigthy, then lathered up on sunscreen (ive learned that spf 45 still isnt powerful enough on my delicate irish milky white skin) AND HIT THE WAVES. or rather, the waves hit us! it took us...just about FOREVER to get used to the frigid waters of the pacific but once we were finally forced to surrender and were brought down by the waves crashing upon us, it was actually quite fun to romp around in the water. alex would stand with his back facing the vast expanse of water and i would be facing him, waiting for a big one, and just by looking at my face going from 0_o to -0- (eyes closed, mouth wide open) he could sense when one was catching up to him. it was great. and that was only the first half hour!!! so we played in the water a bit, he buried me in the sand (which, by the way, is rather delightful and relaxing having warm sand being poured on you), took pictures of his work, then i buried him, and took pictures as well. hahahah a little boy ran right over alexs left knee when he was buried in sand!!!!! hahahahah had to wash off in the water after being buried as we looked ridiculous. lounged around on the towels some and just rested.

went on the two big rollercoasters on the boardwalk, tilt-a-whirl, some spinny ride that i wasnt too keen on going on at first, but after much prodding from alex, i was suckered into it, and *shocker* enjoyed it!, the loggers revenge and **drumroll please** the dropzone-ish ride!!!! one of the highlights of that day was stepping off the ride, coming around to view our pictures that were taken and seeing the look on alex's face. it was...............by far...............................the funniest look on alex i have seen. and i have seen MANY, i repeat, MANY a funny face on alex. so that's saying something. ((kelly laughs uncontrollably for 5 minutes)) finished laughing. hah. food. food food. we ate a funnel cake and bought a jumbo sized thing of cotton candy for the ride home, which i was feeding to alex through the twists and turns of the santa cruz mountain. we got to his house, he had to figure out his class stuff for the fall, and after that he drove to the secret place he had chosen for my birthday dinner (!!!outback!!!) but -sigh- their water main had broke and they were closed, so we went to the only other decent restuarant in the area, OLIVE GARDEN!!! oOoOOo muy delicioso. and when he went to "the bathroom" he told our waitress it was my birthday so at the end of the meal all the waiters came over to sing to me and gave me a hefty sized portion of chocolate fudge cake. the whole day was wonderful and it was just great getting to spend my birthday with him. thanks again alex!! =)

day two, August 6 (my actual b-day):
++++my mom had made a breakfast fit for a queen, so my family and i all ate together. alex came over (with a beautiful combination of lavender and pink flowers with babies breath from him and his mom)in the afternoon to play a game of...........LIFE. i won but only because i cheated at the end. >;) alex chose count chocula for his wife. no joke. uhhh then my mom, dad, brothers, alex, and i went to this surprise place for dinner. not a one of us had ever gone but my mom had noticed it while walking past a few days before and thought it to be a perfect little italian restaurant. there was a mini hawaiian style band playing in the front, who, after getting tipped by tim, sang happy birthday to me in front of the whole place. our next stop was.............MINI GOLF!!! my brothers, alex, and i all played on team while my parents went off on their own to play ahead of us. i even won, as befitting for the birthday girl! birthday girl: 49, Tim: 54, Sean: 55, Alex: 56. it was a close race and im proud of all the players. okay so then the 6 of us went on the go karts. let me tell you.. that might have been the most fun i've had on one of those things. we were all talking so excitedly about it afterwards and by the time i knew it i was already blowing out the candle on my cake. i had a chocolate chip ice cream cake from coldstones that was heavenly. pure heaven.

~so that concludes my birthday season. it was a nice feeling just being able to relax and be with my family and Alex that whole day. i couldnt have asked for anything more. thanks =)

oh, and my sunburn is fading and turning a nice shade of light brown. my face has been looking like a ripe tomato for a few days now though, quite the sexy, i say. ive recently picked up starting to go to the gym..eh, actually my first day in awhile was just yesterday. i couldnt go tonight so i took my dogs on a mile long run around the neighborhood. i feel unstoppable, and i love this feeling. (future kelly who reads this: get off your butt and jog, run, workout, anything! trust me, you'll thank me later) ahhhh i almost forgot!

from my parents:

a coach purse! my first and only one!

a closer look to check out the detailing. black and silver are my favorite classic combination.

from tim:

from sean:

finally!!!!!! MY VERY OWN RUBBER CHICKEN! and even though it doesnt almost lay an egg like alex's, its still lovely =)

three, count 'em, THREE packages of big league chew. i remember telling sean awhile back if he just got me that gum for my birthday, i would be one happy girl. he has good memory.

the notebook on dvd!!! (i think i'm the only one who didnt know that rachel mcadams is 29. i hope i look like that when im nearing 30.)

from alex:

HAPPY!!! =) because thats what this incredibly soft stuffed animal is, and what alex makes me. (i realize how cheesy this must sound...im sorry folks)
he also got me my very own set of "happy birthday coupons", which i will be extra careful in using. as well as a pair of shorts, sunglasses, a pen, the new oasis cd and he's loaning me THESE:

his harry potter books so i can get caught up with the craze finally. yes, thats right. i have never read a single harry potter book before august 7. im ashamed too.

my future plans are lookin' swell as well. this friday my mom, brothers, and i are taking a mini road trip vacation down to hollywood as sean had written in for jay leno tickets and received four in the mail about a week ago for friday's taping (the guests will be: selma blair, john caparulo- a comedian, and avril). we'll be back sometime saturday, and early next week alex and i plan on going to raging waters. move-in for school is saturday, august 20, and i am rather excited to go back and see old faces and get back in the swing of college life. *sigh* i feel really great at the moment, and i love how just going out and getting fresh air gives me such a euphoric high. everyone should try it.

okay back to harry potter and the chamber of secrets..:)
