Hypocrisy

Dec 03, 2003 19:19

Those laws I obey, anyone who breaks them deserves all they get.

Those laws I ignore. those are bad laws.

How acceptable is it, to pick and choose like that?

The worst hypocrisy, though, is those who break a law but think everyone else should follow it.

Resign yourself to the world being populated by 98% arseholes and, in my experience, you won't be disappointed 98% of the time.

In fact, as I oft tell one of my bunnies who moans about people (aka "wanker customers") who use computers whilst not being "qualified" to understand them, EVERYONE in the world is a wanker customer to *someone*.

Sometimes I do wish life's tapestry was *slightly* less rich though...

Mmmm...I'm not convinced acceptance is the answer, you know.

It's that or psycho-rampage, in my experience.

Which has its place, obviously. ;-)

...saw a copper using a mobile phone whislt driving did ya?.. actually an inside source told me that the police did not want the new mobile phone law bought in as they believe most people can concentrate on driving and the phone at the same time, but they also appreciate some people drive like morons even without the phone attatched to their hand and ear

Was it because they believed people could do those two things at once (contrary to research findings) or because they wanted to still be able to phone and drive at the same time..?

Thing is, I can't see how it can be enforced properly anyway; since speed cameras were introduced the number of traffic police has fallen by 33/50/66% (depending on which source you read). They aren't there anymore to check on tailgating, middle lane hogs, fog light monsters, no seat belts, faulty lights etc. etc. cos the speed cameras deal with bad driving...

...so just who is going to police this new law?

The ACPO guidelines apparently recommend that forces simply issue warnings for the first two months, rather than fines. Obviously each force is feel to not to follow the guidelines, but they generally do.
