bastard rooks! >_<

According to the RSPB guide they take small birds and mammals, so whoever told you they only take carrion was clearly talking bollocks. Of course rooks have to eat too, as do owls and all the other predators, it just makes me feel bad to see it. That said, I don't actually mind the bloody antics of predators that much, because they're interesting in their own right. [And how is Harvey eating a mealworm different from a rook eating a duckling?]

Awww cutie.

Rooks are ruthless bastards.. it takes 5 minutes for the covering to be off the pond at my parents house before they're at it, trying to peck holes in the bloody Koi carp! Somehow I have more compassion for the bunny than the fish though..

Me too.

I wonder if bunnies can actually feel more pain than a fish? Or whether it's just that it's easier to imagine their feelings.

I guess they just don't look gaumless, wet, and scaly.. Y'know cute eyes and furr kinda helps with the empathy vote. ;)

i once wanted to own a pub called 'the fox and the rook'. Don't know why, perhaps some past life thing.

That's interesting, I didn't get a notification about your comment (only spotted it when bluebirf commented on it); probably LJ having one of its occasional funny moments.
