I drove to work today as I am still not fully well.

On the way home,
on the road I live on,
in sight of my house,
a -ing idiot destroyed the wing mirror on the drivers side of the car. Smashed it right off. And I don't just mean the glass. The whole unit, he hit me so hard.

And then he kept on driving.

I know how you feel about the driver - there are some total idoits out there - you meet quite a lot of them when you cycle a lot. And it's not just car drivers but pedistrations can just as bad!!! Only on Sunday aftenoon I was cycling along enjoying the nice sunny weather we had down here in Gloucester whe some pedeistrains attempt to committ suicide by stepping out in front of me. They had looked back and has seen I was there and how close I was but still continued to step out in front of me. I use my newly aquired two tone horn (ASDA £3.99) and got nicely sworn at for daring to use it! If I had been a car it would have been a very close call for them - as it was I just about managed to swerve to avoid them and fortunately there wasn't a car coming up behind me or coming towards me else something just might have got bent. And I would have been very upset if it had been the bike as I had just treated to the aforesaid horn and a nice wire basket for the front to carry things it. I have to say its stories like that that make me think that the Clarkson camp have got some point about speed cameras at least - why are they all on main roads, and not on little back roads like yours, where they might actually do some good?
